Deconstructivism is a movement of postmodern architecture which appeared in the 1980s. It gives the impression of the fragmentation of the constructed building. It is characterized by an absence of harmony, continuity, or symmetry. Its name comes from the idea of "Deconstruction", a form of semiotic analysis developed by the French philosopher Jacques Derrida.
Principal Architect. Prior to completing his bachelor of design and master of architecture at the University of Newcastle Douglas spent time working in the horticulture and construction industries where he gained invaluable experience that would provide a solid platform to grow his understanding of design and its relationship with people and place.
